2.3 (F) Exercise One: Smiling
Smiling:
Take a moment to close your eyes, and put a nice big smile on your face. Notice how the body reacts a bit into a positive light. Try to write down the sensations you feel when you smile, into your journal. Notice the almost instant positivity that forms from this quick exercise.
Now, stand on either a mat, carpeted area, or grass outside. Comfortably stand with your feet about shoulder width apart, as you bend your knees slightly and use your toes to “grasp” onto the floor. This starts the process of creating energy to flow from the toes, into the feet, and into the legs. Try to grasp onto the floor as if your feet are talons on an eagle that are grasping onto a branch. As you continue to allow the energy to flow in your lower extremities, spread your fingers as wide as you can, as you start to feel the energy radiate in your palms and into your wrists. Connect with this energy, and feel this energy within you. To increase the energy flow within, you can engage the abdominals and buttocks which will allow for a full body energy flow. Now bring a smile to your face, as you immediately feel from the smile, a shift into positivity. Notice how just that smile can make a difference in how you feel. FEEL the positive energy flow, and I mean dig deep inside, and focus directly on how the energy makes you feel good inside. Find a comfortable amount of energy, as you are in control, and close your eyes, keep smiling, and connect with your body.
After about a minute, gently release the tension, and sway back and forth, as you contemplate what may have come up for you, and write it in your journal.
