1.7 (B) Acceptance
Learning How to Accept:
The definition of acceptance, in relation to our purpose here is: the willingness to tolerate what may be a difficult or unpleasant situation, without struggling with it.
This definition can be difficult for some people to grasp. But when we can’t, or aren’t willing to learn to accept things as they are, we may tend to question, worry, bring judgment, and overthink. All of this can bring on stress.
Many of us, tend to be ultra critical of ourselves, and lack the acceptance of who we are, inside and out. This is a major component to work on. Without acceptance, it may be more difficult to move past the negativities in life, that we hold onto. The more we accept, the easier changes can occur.
Acceptance is the KEY to much of this process, since when you are accepting of yourself, others and challenging situations, it becomes easier to release tension, and any other negative components that we may be holding onto. This will leave you more relaxed and focused on what is important in your life.
We will focus on:
1. The acceptance of OURSELVES
2. The acceptance of OTHERS
3. The acceptance of CHALLENGING SITUATIONS
Key points:
1. We are accepting ourselves when we can remember that we are special and unique, with talents and gifts that may be left unexplored.
2. We are accepting others when we realize that perfection is just an illusion, that no one is perfect, and that everyone has struggles.
3. We are accepting challenging situations when we realize that there will always be challenges in our life.
